I have no problem with computers and accessories like mice, keyboards, and LCDs that go out of their way to look good. It’s cool to have a high-tech device that looks high-tech. The caveat is that the devices need to work well and not just look good.

LG release a new LCD monitor W2363V with full HD 23-inch screen. The monitor offer 1000:1 contrast ratio and 70000:1 DFC mode sport. It has a brightness of 300cd/m2, a 2ms response time, 2 HDMI ports and SRS audio support.

Toshiba announced a brand new LCD HDTV today called the 19LV612U, which is a part of their new Stainless Steel series, which is a new line meant to stand up to the tough conditions a kitchen environment can impose.

Sharp have announced a new range of AQUOS LED-backlit LCD TVs, the LE700 series, ranging in size from 32- to 52-inches.  Each offering Full HD 1080p, they use Sharp’s X-Gen LCD panel with 10-bit processing and a dynamic contrast ratio in excess of 2,000,000:1.

Sony have announced that, as of fall 2009, Netflix, Demand Media and ON Networks will arrive on their BRAVIA HDTVs.  A standard feature on any upcoming Sony BRAVIA internet video-capable HDTV, and usable on existing sets courtesy of Sony’s BRAVIA Internet Video Link module, Netflix users will be able to access their instant queue lists on their TV.

HANNSG have announced a new 24.6-inch widescreen LCD display, the HH251HP, which promises distortion-free aspect ratio support and full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution.  Boasting 15,000:1 dynamic contrast (actual contrast is 800:1) and 5ms response time, the display isn’t going to trounce a high-end panel, but there’s plenty on offer for budget buyers.
